Way to go indeed! thnx a bunch! been looking into simular stuff. “nv growlight” u say? i can see the light is very different then regular white leds. they sell growleds over here with only red and blue leds (they say its best). potgrowers say they aint good, and they re from 200$. so im gonna get a string of red and a blue one, some white shiny pvc. so i get the same for like 40$. checkout STEVIA and PAWPAW (poormansbanana) my next projects. Best wishes!

You might want to lower that light a little… Not sure if you know what the color temp of the light is, but if it’s 2500K or lower you’ll need to have the light no further than a foot from the top of the plants. Some sort of reflective enclosure would definitely help too.

    Take Care,
    Jason

Very nice Pete! I recently turned the small room under my stairs into a grow room. Ive been using Flourescents. (pretty big ones) I am doing VERY well with growing Greens and herbs. I am also starting some Hopps vines and look forward to starting all my garden vegetables indoors. Keep us posted on how well these LEDS work!

  20. Stormclouds777 says:

Also Pete, instead of mirrors, move it into a corner and simply staple some aluminum foil to the walls. Very cheap and effective. :)

  21. 1BustedMyth says:

There’s a lot of good waste heat over in that corner by the heater, great for seeds. Thats where i do my germination.
I only have mild winters and my fig drops every leaf and goes almost completely dormant

  22. newheys says:

Thanks for the info. I have just ordered two panels here in the UK. Not as cheap as yours, £70 for two (about US$100), but all electronics are more expensive here!

    i had to squint

  24. cyberpsygen7 says:

be careful with those grow lights, you might get illegally raided and shot in the face like that elderly lady they thought was growing marijuana but obviously wasn’t.

  25. wvMICKster says:

I’ve seen those leds for plants but haven’t used them before. I’ve been using just regular shop lights with two 40w florescent light tubes! They actually do a great job and I also bought adjustable metal shelving and fixed the shop lights to them and have a cheap plant stand! You usually have to burn the florescent lights for 12 to 14 hrs for maxiumum grow power though! Also you might have to move the light closer to the plants since it’s artifical light. Keep us informed!
